Recite!

If my memory still serves me right, back in kindergarten, we were taught a rhyme that went like this:

“…away with coffee,
away with tea,
milk, milk come to me!…”

At home I was however reciting  — nay, more like shouting — this rhyme:

“…i drink coffee,
i drink tea,
milk, milk go away!…

And that was all right, because I had been drinking the Kahawa Sug  for breakfast since I can remember, with tinapay taking its bath in my glass (yes, glass) of coffee before I even took my bath for the day 🙂

Author’s Note:

Shy me will be rarely writing about myself in this blog.  This is one of those times, but very sparingly for some more time. There will come a time, of course, when I have to write more about myself, mainly because some of my published writings were extensively about my place of origin.  For now,  I write to explain that, where I grew up (which is in Jolo, Sulu, quite an interesting place), tinapay — or bread bun, in English — is usually eaten by first dipping it into a glass of morning coffee and getting it all soaked up before bringing it to the mouth.  🙂

Have a nice weekend, dear readers.   — SSJ, 19 August 2017
