physiognomy of an eel

for
all its
slippery
rubbery
twisting
thick
tough
long
skin,
the eel
reveals
a wide mouth on
a small
face:
to hook an eel
throw it a bait

Author’s note:

This poem came to be written after a couple of fishing trips that yielded only eels. 🙂
Would you recognize an eel
when you see one?
To hook an eel, throw it a bait. Or a tweet,
as the case may be. 😉
